Dear Power Writer,
Are you building a house God never asked you to build? In writers’ talk, that means are you writing something God never asked you to write? If so, you are writing in vain.
Too often, we writers decide on what we want to write and then, as an afterthought, we ask God to bless what we’ve decided to write or what we have already written. This is putting the cart before the horse and will bring us nothing but frustration.
Psalm 127:1 makes it clear that “Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.”
Are you laboring in vain? Examine your heart. Ask yourself if you consulted God before beginning your current writing project. If you did not, you need to retrace your steps.
Remember: only what is ordained by God will prosper. All else is “sinking sand”.
