The Cross, the Tomb, and the Throne

Dear Power Writer,

At the Cross, we experienced the death of our old nature. At the tomb of resurrection, we received our new nature. And at the throne, we receive the power and authority to rule in this world.

But many Christians, including many Christian writers, never get to the throne. Yes, they know their sins are forgiven (the Cross); they know they are born again (the empty tomb); but they don’t know and experience the power and authority they can find at the throne. Consequently, they lead defeated lives.

Writer of God, it is time to approach the throne, and to approach it with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). Take hold of the power and authority that our Father has given you to write for Him. Use that power and authority against the enemy whenever he tries to rob you of what is rightfully yours.

Your calling to write is a treasure. Don’t treat it lightly. Protect it with the power and authority you will find only at the throne.

  1. Hi MaryAnn –

Children are a gift from God, and we do everything we can to protect them. Why not view the abilities God gives us as precious and deserving protection?

    Thanks for an insightful post.

    Susan 🙂

  2. I attended a workshop with SCBWI last Sunday and got some feedback from an editor with Scholastic. Boy, do I have some rewriting to do! But it’s good because it will strengthen my story. I know God gave me what I needed to hear, and He will empower me to complete it. I just need to get started! HA!!
