Writing Contests

A good way to progress in your writing career is to enter writing contests. A writing contest will showcase your writing and possibly open doors of publication if you place in the contest.

Most writing contests offer publication to the winner, and many even offer monetary rewards. Most of all, writing contests place your work before editors who may offer you an assignment even if you don’t place.

Below are a few websites providing information on writing contests. Choose a few and enter. You may just win! 🙂

  1. On your old blog, you did Tuesday Try Outs and I entered a short, short story from that exercise to Writer’s Digest. I didn’t win anything, but you never know, right?

You also had us write a paragraph on a picture of an o-l-d man and I’ve been working on a new book idea that came from it.

So, I encourage everyone to try. You have nothing to lose!
