Dear Power Writers,

Time is a priceless commodity. As a result, I, like you, always want to make the best use of it, to the glory of God. As a result, I have been re-evaluating the focus of my blog. I am considering three options and would appreciate your input:

1) Option 1: Refocus my blog to reflect my primary writing interest of all things fiction;

2) Option 2: Continue addressing the spirit, soul, and body aspects of writing;

3) Option 3: Discontinue the blog because of what seems like low interest.

I would appreciate your honest input re: The Write Power. Please let me hear from you.

Thanks and Blessings,

  1. Dr. MaryAnn, I very rarely receive your blog. It came through today and the last time was at least a month ago, if not more. It is not in my spam either. I thought you were not doing your blog regularly.

    • I will check into this, Linda. Did you subscribe to my blog? If not, please send me your email address and I will add it to my distribution list.

      Thank you for the heads-up.

  2. I like both options one and two, as either would be of interest and a blessing to me. But naturally I want you to be led of the Lord…you have my support, interest, and best wishes whatever your decision.

  3. I hadn’t seen a note from The Write Power in a long time, either. I’ll have to subscribe.
    Thank you for wanting to continue. I’ve always found your blog to be so encouraging and uplifting, no matter what the subject.
    I believe no matter what you chose as a subject for your blog, it will continue to be a blessing. It’s similar to what the Lord instructed me about the music: even if it’s a secular song instead of a Christian song, the intent of my heart is to glorify Him.
    When you blog about Christian matters, you’ll lift our spirits to Him. When you blog about writing, you’ll enable us to write better to praise Him. As the modern saying goes, “It’s all good.”
    So let the Lord be your guide, but please don’t discontinue the blog. You needn’t blog every day if you don’t have enough time or don’t feel led, but we’d all miss it if it went away entirely! You are always a blessing in everything you do!
    God bless you!

  4. Dr. MaryAnn – I know you must do what you feel is best…but I hope you do NOT discontinue your blog!! My vote would be either option 1 or 2 – – I personally gain so much from your writing and wisdom. Although I don’t actually reply that often, I still benefit from reading your posts. May the Lord guide you in making your decision. Blessings, Patti Jo 🙂

  5. I’m wondering why this blog has less participation than your old one. But I think you need to keep trudging on and I like #1 and #2, as well.

  6. Thanks to everyone who commented on “Re-Focusing”. Your input is very much appreciated.

    To answer Pam’s question as to why the lower participation on this blog than on my original one, I think that the way this one is set up makes it more difficult for people to subscribe. But maybe I’m missing something. I’ll check into it.

    Again, thanks for all of your valued comments.

  7. Hi MaryAnn and everyone–I have the blog “anchored” on my “MY YAHOO” page. You can personalize your page to show you the most recent entry titles, and it tells you how long ago the new topic was posted.

    I’d go for a combination of 1 & 2 — I love the instructional writing technique blogs with a the spiritual woven in. Of course, I also want the Lord’s will in this decision!

  8. No MaryAnn; don’t go. The Write Power is bookmarked, right there in my toolbar and I check it everyday, sometimes two and three times, just in case you write a new post while I was busy writing.

    God will lead you to the right decision – His will will prevail for your good because it is obvious that you love Him.

    Just so you’ll know, I’d go with options 1 or 2.

    God Bless.

  9. Thanks MaryAnn, for writing this blog. I not only look forward to it but also reread it from time to time. Your words inspire. teach and challenge. No matter how difficult life becomes your blog is a constant in my life. For that I am forever grateful.

  10. Hi MaryAnn,

    Like some others, I haven’t been getting your blog in my email either, and I’m quite sure I have subscribed to it.

    You have been a Godsend in my life, and I’d hate to see you leave your blog. I vote for #1 or #2 or a combination, but I pray the Spirit will give you guidance, MaryAnn.
