Taking Spiritual Dominion through Our Writing

While this is not a political blog, it is a Christian one. And as Christians, we have been given dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28). This dominion involves monitoring the culture for attacks of the enemy, and driving out the enemy wherever we find him. We do this first and foremost by engaging in spiritual warfare through prayer. But we also do this by upholding and fighting for Biblical principles in our culture.

As most of you are aware, we in this country are in grave danger of losing our freedom, and of losing it very soon. As writers who are followers of Christ, we have been given a gift–the gift of writing talent. We must use this gift to help enforce our God-given dominion.

I urge you to stand up for Biblical principles by using your pen. Write op-eds, articles, blogs, letters to your Congressmen and Senators to express to those in authority that in America, the people rule under God. Government officials are our servants, not the other way around.

If we do not wield the pen against evil, the sword will be wielded against us.

  1. Hi MaryAnn –

Thanks for a great post. We’ve been given stewardship over our freedoms. If we neglect them, we’ll suffer the consequences.

As Christian writers, freedom of speech and religion are key to getting the good news to all people. Our freedoms are a platform, a foundation, on which we stand. If it no longer exists, we have lost an important way to proclaim the love of Jesus.

Writers like to talk about what if’s to spark their work. What if it became illegal to mention the name of Jesus in public? What if it became illegal to write articles on controversial issues? I could go on, but you get the point.

Thanks for encouraging us to appreciate and protect our freedoms.

    Blessings,
    Susan 🙂

    • Thanks so much for your insightful comments, Susan! Asking “what if?” What a powerful way to realize the seriousness of what we are currently facing in America.

You are absolutely right! What if it becomes illegal to write about Jesus or to speak about Him in public? Sobering questions.

Thank you for your courage and your stand!

      Blessings,

      MaryAnn
