Are You “Under the Circumstances”?

Most, if not all of us, at one time or another have used the phrase “under the circumstances” to refer to a situation in our lives. Yet if we believe God’s Word, we should never be “under” the circumstances. We should always be “on top” of them.

God tells us that we are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). So what are we ever doing “under” the circumstances?

Take a look at your life today. What area have you considered to be “under the circumstances”? Now speak God’s Word to the enemy who has lied to you about your circumstances. Declare and decree the following: “According to God’s Word in Deuteronomy 28:13, I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. Now you (name your situation) bow to the Word of God and the Name of Jesus!”

So it is written! So it is! Amen and amen!

  1. I agree, Mary Ann … but if our circumstances come from God’s Hand, we can look at it as being under them, covered by His Hand, given to strengthen us.

At the same time, we sometimes use circumstances to keep ourselves from doing what needs to be done.

Either way, we have to take control of ourselves and how we handle the circumstances that come our way.
