God: Our Provider and Our Provision

When we think of God as our Provider and our Provision, we usually think of finances. But have you considered that God supplies whatever we need? This includes everything pertaining to our writing.

Do you need ideas? God provides them. Do you need wisdom in crafting an article? God provides it. Do you need a publisher for your book? God provides one.

The important thing to remember about God’s provision is that He gives us what we need, not necessarily what we want. Indeed, Philippians 4:19 NIV states, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” When what we need and what we want coincide, we receive a special blessing.

What do you need today? Ask God to provide it and He will. One last thing: Sometimes what we think we need is not what we truly need. God always knows best. If we pray for one thing and receive another, God is showing us that what we received is what we truly needed.

  1. So true, MaryAnn! I’ve often said, I didn’t write this. I took dictation.

But that doesn’t absolve us from learning all we can about the craft. We need to do our best when writing for God!
