Writing As Relationship

There are many components to becoming a writer. For us as followers of Jesus Christ, the most important component is our relationship with God. For it is out of this relationship that our writing flows.

Relationship is the core desire of God’s heart. We see this desire expressed in the Cross. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to restore the relationship between man and God. Indeed, Christianity is not a religion; it is a relationship between God and man.

In order to bear fruit, our writing must have its source in  this relationship: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” (John 15:4 NIV).

As we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord, let’s make sure that we are remaining in Him. Only then will our writing be full of His life, and only then will our writing bring His life to our readers.

  1. Thanks for the reminder.

I do agree with you that our writing flows from our relationship with Christ.

I often keep a pad of paper beside me when I spend time alone with Him to jot down book ideas I get during this time 😉

    • What a good idea, Eve, to keep a notepad for ideas our Lord gives you while you spend time with Him!
Thanks so much for sharing this.

      Happy Resurrection Day!
