Christmas Gift Ideas for Writers and Other Loved Ones

Dear Writer Friends,

If you’re still looking for ideas for Christmas gift-giving, here are a couple below:

GIFT SUGGESTION #`1:Jana Mitchell, a fellow writer, handcrafts beautiful leather journals of 240 pages each on acid-free paper.  They come in various colors and in two styles: one with a beaded spine and one with a hand-stitched spine.  I’ve ordered one for myself since I am an inveterate journaler.

Here are a couple of photos of Jana’s masterpieces:

  1. Thank you for your kind support MaryAnn. I hope you enjoy your journal, I certainly enjoyed making it. I’ll include a bit of information for those interested.

I make handbound leather wrapped journals with and without a hand beaded spine. They have 240 pages (front and back) of 70 – 80lb. acid-free hand torn paper handbound to Italian lambskin using the longstitch and waxed Irish linen thread. They measure about 6″x5″x1 1/2″.

They make very special gifts – great prayer journals, sketch books, travel journals, perfect for writing poems, songs, hopes and dreams. Fill them with flowers, pictures, tiny seashells or recipes. Give one to a writer, college student, missionary, or write the story of your life for the people you love.
