Wednesday Wisdom (Business): Using Logos

Writers today are engaged in the promotion process like never before.  Gone are the days when a publisher handled promotion while a writer did the writing.

As cutting-edge writers, we need to be savvy about promotion techniques. One such technique that is not often discussed is the logo.

What is a logo?  A logo is a symbol an organization uses to identify and promote its products. By extension, a logo is a symbol a writer can use to promote her products; namely, her books.

I’ve included in this blog post an example of a logo I use to promote my book, YOU WERE MADE FOR GREATNESS!  My book was entered into a contest sponsored by The Christian Authors Show and won a place in the Top 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading contest.  This contest was judged by listeners and readers of The Christian Authors Show.

If you do not have a logo to promote your books, consider designing one.  You can then use your logo on your website, your blog, or on numerous other marketing venues.

Do you already use a logo to promote your books?  If so, please direct us to the place where we can see it and support your marketing efforts.
