(Attitude) Expect to Win

I once heard an interview with an Olympic gold-medal winner in figure skating. What struck me most about her interview was the fact that she expected to win.

Expectation is simply another word for faith. This young woman believed that she would win, and she did.

But she didn’t rely solely on her faith. She put work behind her faith. Scripture tells us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:17).  Likewise, faith in your writing success without the work behind that faith will get you nowhere.

Both faith and works are necessary to succeed as a writer. Make sure you have both!
