Scripture tells us in Proverbs 23:7 that as we see ourselves, so shall we be. Well, how do you see yourself as a writer? Do you see yourself as a success or a failure? In short, do you believe in yourself?
Belief in yourself is essential to success. This does not mean that you will do everything perfectly. Believing in yourself means that you are confident that, with practice and perseverance, you will reach the goals you have set for yourself.
But belief that stops with ourselves is not enough. We must take our belief one step farther and realize that it is God Who gives us the power to write and to succeed at writing. We are only one part of the equation, albeit a very important part. But God is ultimately the One Who gives us the grace to write and to write successfully.
So, in short, we could summarize the formula for writing success as follows: Believe in God and believe in yourself. Therein you have the right attitude for becoming a successful writer.
