(Attitude) I Think I Can! I Think I Can! I Think I Can!

trainThinking makes it so.  Thus goes an old saying that, in my opinion, is only partially true.  Thinking without doing won’t make anything so. Thinking coupled with doing will make a lot of things so.

When it comes to writing fiction, thinking goes a long way.  I’m not talking only about the thinking that is involved in crafting an excellent story. I’m also talking about the thinking that keeps you going when the going gets tough.  This kind of thinking perseveres in the face of adversity and gets the job done.  In other words, it gets the story written.

The little engine made it over the mountain because he thought he could.  You will get your story written because you think you can, and then you will write it. It doesn’t matter that the task looks impossible.

Aerodynamically, the bumblebee cannot fly, but it does not know that it cannot fly. So, what does it do?  It flies!  If you think you can write a story, you can.  So, think you can! Think you can! Think you can! Soon you’l be writing “The End” to a wonderful story.
