If you’re like me, you sometimes feel more like a human doing than a human being. If so, then both of us have things backward.
A key attitude to success as a writer is to recognize that we are human beings first, then human doings. In other words, our doing must come out of our being if we are to succeed according to God’s plan for our lives.
Being means abiding in Christ. Jesus told us that if we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit (John 15:5). He also told us that without Him, we can do nothing (ibid.).
What we write will flow out of our spending time with Jesus Christ. As we get to know Him intimately, we will become filled with Him. Then, out of that infilling with Christ, we will have something to write that will touch lives for Him.
