Hello and Happy Day! This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, Novelist and Life Coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, June 22, 2020. Today’s Podcast is Episode #25 in Series 2020 and is titled “7 Signs That the Tribulation Is at Hand.”

Are you trying to make sense of what is going on in the world? If so, you are not alone. Sound-minded people everywhere are asking, “What is happening to my country? To the world?”  As always, the answer to those questions is found in the Bible.

Yes, the Bible. Now before you get all bent out of shape, do yourself a favor and hear me out.

Two-thirds of the Bible tells about what is happening in our world today. Do you find that surprising? Well, when you get to know God, you won’t find that surprising at all. You see, God wants us to know what is going on as a warning to us to prepare for the return of Jesus Christ.

But more on that later. Right now, I want to give you seven signs straight from the Bible that prove we are in the last days before Jesus Christ will return to remove His Church from the earth. That event is called the Rapture, and it will occur before the Tribulation.

Sadly, most pastors in America are not teaching their flocks about this event. But you don’t need a pastor to teach you. You can learn it for yourself in the Bible. Read the following books: Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Zechariah in the Old Testament, and Matthew, 1Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Revelation in the New Testament.

Now, on to the seven signs that the Tribulation is at hand:

Sign #1: Lawlessness and Violence (Matthew 24: 12; 2 Thessalonians 2: 3; Revelation 9: 21). In Matthew 24: 12 and 2 Thessalonians 2: 3, the Bible warns that in the last days, a spirit of lawlessness will take over the earth. This means that people will no longer respect civil authority and will take authority into their own hands. In other words, they will rebel.

We are seeing this happening before our very eyes in Washington state, where rioters have taken over a portion of a city and declared it a separate country. A year ago, this would have been unthinkable. Yet, it is happening now as I write.

To further lawlessness, protesters are demanding that our police be defunded. This is insanity of the highest degree. Imagine a society with no deterrent to crime. That is the kind of world we will live in if we don’t do something to stop it.

Along with lawlessness, violence will increase. We read this in Revelation 9: 21: “Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.” In major cities, statues are being overturned by violent protesters. Murders and looting are increasing in major cities like Chicago and Los Angeles. Violence against specific groups is also increasing, including violence against Christians and Jews. Which brings us to—

Sign #2. Anti-Semitism (Matthew 24: 15-20). Anti-Semitism is on the rise. Synagogues are being damaged and destroyed. Many Jews, particularly in some of the Northeastern states of the United States, are returning to Israel to live.

Sign #3: Surrender of Rights (Revelation 13: 7-17). As a result of the Corona virus panic, people have given up their Constitutional rights in exchange for “peace and security.”  We have become like sheep going to the slaughter, and most Americans don’t seem to care. The Globalists have us right where they want us. Their experiment, via the Corona virus, has gotten them the results they expected. They are dealing with weak people who care more about their own skin than about their liberty. Where are the Patrick Henrys of today who will declare, “Give me liberty or give me death!” I know of very few. How about you?

Sign #4: Inflation (Revelation 6: 6). Already we are seeing signs of inflation in our economy. One such sign is the price of housing. Houses that only a year or two ago sold for $250,000 are now selling for $400,000-$500,000. According to the Bible, there will be an economic collapse during the Tribulation. In Revelation 6: 6, we read these words of John the Revelator: “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Prices for food will skyrocket, as they already have, and bare essentials will require a day’s pay to purchase.

Sign #5: The Rise of the New World Order (Daniel 7; Revelation 13). Have you seen the United Nation’s website called the “UN New World Order”? Check it out at You will be shocked! Its tagline is “Let’s Take Our Planet Back.” When you explore their initiatives, however, under the headings of Sustainability, Climate Change, and other nice-sounding terms that are a disguise for the true agenda of the United Nations, things like Agenda 2020, Agenda 2030, and a host of other deceptive initiatives designed to promote the New World Order, you will see what the UN is really about. Remember this: Jesus said, “DO NOT BE DECEIVED.” (Matthew 24: 4).  As the old saying goes, “All that glitters is not gold.”

Sign #6: Apostasy (1 Timothy 4: 1) . Apostasy is the act of straying from the Truth. Today we are seeing countless churches abandoning the truth of God’s Word and promoting heretical teachings that are diametrically opposed to what God says in His Word. As Scripture prophesied, these apostate churches are calling good evil, and evil good (Isaiah 5: 20). Unless they repent, the people who embrace the false teachings of apostate churches will perish and spend eternity in hell, as will the pastors of such churches.

Sign #7: Famine and pestilence (Matthew 24: 7). We don’t have to go far to witness extensive famine and pestilence throughout the earth. For the past several months, we have all personally experienced the effects on our lives of the global Corona virus pandemic. Moreover, unusual and adverse weather patterns have caused drought or heavy rains in areas not accustomed to such erratic weather. These events, plus the plagues of locusts and other insects, have wreaked havoc on the world’s food supply, resulting in famine in many areas.

So, there you have it, my friend. Seven signs that the Tribulation is at hand. But the question is, what are you going to do about it?

Well, there is nothing we can do to stop the arrival of the Tribulation because God prophesied it would happen. If God prophesied it, then nothing can stop it.

But, there is one critically important thing we can do to prepare for the Lord’s return. We can be ready!

You may be wondering, “How can I be ready?” There is only one way. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, and you will then escape the horrific period called the Tribulation.

You see, Jesus will return shortly before the Tribulation to remove from the earth all of us who are born again and follow Him. Those who are not born again and who do not follow Him will be left behind to go through the horrific tyranny of the AntiChrist who will rule the world during the Tribulation. The AntiChrist will be the physical embodiment of Satan himself. So you can only imagine how evil his reign of terror will be.

So, I urge you–I implore you, even–to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord if you have not already done so.
Just pray this simple prayer with me now:

Lord Jesus, I come to You, just as I am. I do not want to be here during the Tribulation period. I want to go with You when You remove Your followers from the earth. So I ask You now to save me from the wrath to come. I invite You into my life. I receive You as my Savior and my Lord. Make of me what You created me to be. In Your Name I pray. Amen.

If you prayed this simple prayer, please write to me at I would like to send you a little booklet that will help you get started in your walk with Christ. I also encourage you to get yourself a Bible and read it every single day. The Bible is God’s love letter to you, His manual for your life. In the Bible, God reveals Who He is, and He instructs you how to live.

Finally, ask the Lord to lead you to the church of His choice for you where you can learn about Him and have fellowship and encouragement with other Christ-Followers.

  1. You sure hit the nail on the head with the 7 Signs!!! In my heart, I feel the return of Christ is closer than ever before! I’m ready & waiting my dear Christian sister for that glorious day….
Continue to write & I will continue to read!
    Love & blessings,
    Sandi L Shokes

    • Thank you so very much for your kind words, dear Sandi. Our Lord used your comment to encourage me, and I am most grateful to Him and to you. Yes, dear sister in Christ, keep looking up, for our redemption draws near! Hallelujah!

  2. We are already in the Tribulation as revealed in the Book of Revelations …

The modern “rapture” doctrine that began in the 1800’s in Scotland then came to the US and promoted by Scofield and then others from seminaries in the 1900’s. It has NO basis in historical Christianity and currently by the signs already fulfilled has been proven to be in error.

The decisions we are making right now are Tribulation level choices of whom we really believe in and will serve. Do we believe and follow men and women? Who call themselves scientists, doctors, psychologists, benevolent politicians, prophets, teachers, bible professors with doctorates, clergy and preachers? Do we believe in and follow this world and the love of it, while trying to preserve our life, jobs and property? Or, will we by the laying down of our life in faith and testimony to the Son of God follow Him who is seated at the right side of His Father in Heaven?

Please, look at the sign and believe: the great and wonderful Sign of the Woman giving birth to a son in the stars of heaven has already occurred. It was fulfilled in 2017 on September 23rd for all to see. Sign of Revelation 12

Please, look at the signs and believe: The White Horse judgment began on the official day 3-11-2020 that WHO declared Covid 19 a pandemic which was exactly 900 days from the official date of 9-23-2017 when the Sign of the Woman giving birth to a son in the heavens was fulfilled.

The numeric value of the date 3-11-2020 (3+1+1+2+0+2+0) is 9.
In Biblical numbers 9 means: divine completeness, or conveys the meaning of finality. Revelations 3:7, 5:1
900 days = 100 x 9 and represents ultimate finality. It has begun. It can not be changed or altered.

    • Dear RM,

Thank you so much for reaching out. I welcome your input and your insights. It is good to meet a fellow believer who diligently studies the Scriptures surrounding the end times. Blessings on you! 🙂

I am familiar with the position you take, and I approach you with the deepest respect as I offer my comments.

The first point I would like to address is the following:

“The modern “rapture” doctrine that began in the 1800’s in Scotland then came to the US and promoted by Scofield and then others from seminaries in the 1900’s. It has NO basis in historical Christianity and currently by the signs already fulfilled has been proven to be in error.”

I must respectfully disagree with the above statement. There are references to the Rapture by early Church writers prior to the 1800s: Here are some of them:

      1. In 1672, in his work titled THE WORKS OF JOSEPH MEDE, Book 4, page 776, London edition, Joseph Mede wrote the following words that prove that the Rapture doctrine was being discussed prior to 1800: ” … what may be conceived to be the cause of this RAPTURE of the saints on high to meet the Lord in the clouds…”

Irenaeus (130-202 A.D.), in his book AGAINST HERESIES, wrote: “And therefore, when in the end, the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this, it is said, ‘There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be.'”

Still another quote about the Rapture earlier than 1800 occurs in the TREATISE OF CYPRIAN (200-258 A.D.): “We who see that terrible things have begun, and know that still more terrible things are imminent, may regard it as the greatest advantage to depart from it as quickly as possible. Do you not give God thanks, do you not congratulate yourself, that by an early departure you are taken away, and delivered from the shipwrecks and disasters that are imminent?”

Finally, Ephraim the Syrian (306-373 A.D.) wrote the following about the Rapture: “For all the saints and elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins.”

      2. The Tribulation cannot have started yet since it will begin when the AntiChrist enforces a treaty with Israel. In Daniel 9: 27 KJV, the Word says “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.” That one week is the seven-year tribulation period. Therefore, the tribulation cannot have begun because the AntiChrist has not yet confirmed the treaty (covenant).

You may be thinking that the Abrahamic Accord is the covenant or treaty to which Daniel refers in Daniel 9, but it is not. The Abrahamic Accord may become the treaty that the AntiChrist will enforce (confirm) at a later time.

      3. The White Horse comes first and represents the AntiChrist, coming as a man of peace. The White Horse does not represent pestilence. The Pale Horse represents pestilence and death. What we are witnessing now are the “birth pains” to which Jesus alluded in Matthew 24. We are seeing what is leading up to the Tribulation.

      4. The Rapture must occur before the Tribulation. Here are 10 reasons that this is so:

      1. The Rapture is imminent. This means that it could happen at any time. Jesus said that no one would know the date or time of His return. The only way this could be true is if the Rapture were pre-Tribulation. If it were mid-Tribulation or post-Tribulation, one could easily calculate the day and time of His return because one would know the date of the beginning of the Tribulation. At the same time, the Second Coming is predicted precisely to the day. Revelation 12: 6 says that it will occur exactly 1260 days after the breaking of the peace treaty.

      2. The Rapture is known as “the blessed hope” (Titus 2: 13). It would not be considered a blessed hope at the middle or the end of the Tribulation.

      3. The Lord has not appointed us unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 5: 9). The Tribulation is the wrath of God upon the world as well as God’s dealing with Israel. God has appointed the saved to wrath. Persecution is not God’s wrath. Man in all of his wickedness cannot even approach the wrath of God.

      4. There is no mention of the Church after Revelation chapter 4. The seven churches are mentioned in Rev. 2 and 3. The Church is not mentioned again until the end of the Book of Revelation because all believers have been raptured.

      5. The restraining power of the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth before the Tribulation (2 Thess. 2: 7). The Holy Spirit indwells only believers. If the Holy Spirit’s restraining power is removed, so must the Church in Whom the Holy Spirit’s restraining power dwells be also removed. According to 2 Thessalonians 2: 6-8), only after the Restrainer (the Holy Spirit) is removed will the AntiChrist be revealed.

      6. The Old Testament provides types of the Rapture: Enoch, Noah, and Lot. Enoch was removed before the floods came. Lot was delivered from Sodom before it was destroyed. Noah was saved from the flood waters.

      7. The 24 Elders in the Book of Revelation represent the entire Church. They are mentioned 12 times from Revelation 4 to Revelation 19, indicating that the Church is in Heaven during the Tribulation, which begins in Chapter 4 of Revelation. Also, in Rev. 4: 1, John is taken up into Heaven, symbolizing the Rapture of the Church.

      8. There is a difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming. In the Rapture, the Lord will come FOR His saints; in the Second Coming, He will come WITH His saints.

      9. Jesus said that Satan cannot overcome the Church (Matthew 16: 18), but the Tribulation saints will be overcome by Satan (Revelation 13: 7). If the Tribulation saints can be overcome by Satan, they cannot be the Church.

      10. There are many types and figures in the New Testament that prove a pre-Tribulation Rapture.

I am thankful that we can disagree agreeably and still love each other as members of the Body of Christ. May our Lord richly bless you and your precious family as we both await His glorious appearing and occupy until He comes.

      Many blessings,

      Dr. MaryAnn Diorio
