Hello and Happy Day! This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, novelist and life coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, June 21, 2021, and this is Episode #20 of Series 2021. This episode is titled “Breaking the Mind Barrier”.

I’m working on another non-fiction book. You guessed it. It’s titled Breaking the Mind Barrier. Lord willing, it will be released by the end of summer 2021.
I started writing this book a few years back and wrote a good part of it, but I didn’t finish it because the time did not seem right. A few days ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Now is the time.”
So, I thought I’d give you, my faithful readers and listeners, a private, advance preview into my forthcoming book, before the rest of the world learns about it.
Breaking the Mind Barrier is about renewing the mind for success. It’s based on Romans 12: 2 NLT, where the Word of God says this: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
The Word of God has much to say about success. In fact, it is the greatest book on success ever written. Why, then, do most people never read it? The reason is that the Bible has been lied about, and the God of the Bible has been maligned. Instead of reading the Bible for themselves, people have listened to the lies of others about the Bible. In listening to those lies, they have short-changed themselves from taking advantage of the greatest book of all time.
Are you one of those people? If so, decide to change that today by breaking the mental barrier that is keeping you from knowing the truth.
That’s what the mind barrier is, you know. It’s a mental barrier–consisting of a lie–that keeps you from knowing and accepting truth. Consequently, it keeps you enslaved to defeat and despair.
Most–if not all–of us have had mental barriers to truth. Most of the time, we develop them in childhood when well-meaning parents or guardians say things that are not in sync with our true identity–things like, “You’ll never amount to much” or “You never do anything right.” These labels–as I call them–stick to us, most of the time for the rest of our lives. And these labels keep us from fulfilling our true destiny.
In my forthcoming book, Breaking the Mind Barrier, I discuss the three key points to breaking the mental strongholds that are keeping us from success. These three steps are: 1) Identifying the lies we believe;
2) Renouncing those lies; and 3) Replacing the lies with the truth that alone sets us free.
Let me give you a quick overview of each step:
1. Identifying the Lie. Unless we can identify the mental barrier that is keeping us from success, we will not be able to deal with that mental barrier. We will be ignorant of it and of the havoc it is wreaking in our lives. Breaking the Mind Barrier will help you to identify the lies you believe so that you can address them.
2. Renouncing the Lie. Once we identify the lies we believe, we must repent of them and renounce them. To renounce means to turn away from those lies, to stop believing them. In Breaking the Mind Barrier, I will show you how to do that.
3. Replacing the Lie with the Truth. Once we turn from the lie, we must replace it with the truth. Otherwise, we will create a vacuum, and we all know what happens with a vacuum. If we don’t fill the vacuum with truth, it will automatically fill up with more lies. Scripture describes this process in Matthew 12: 43-45:
“When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation.” ~ Matthew 12: 43-45 NLT:
All of us have mental barriers that need to be broken. The more mental barriers to truth that we break, the freer we will be. Why? Because Jesus said, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8: 32 BSB).
Do you want to be set free from mental barriers that are keeping you from success? Then read and study the Bible. It contains all the principles of success that you will ever need. Listen to the Lord’s words to Joshua: “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (Joshua 1: 8 NLT).
If you want to be successful, study the Bible. There you will learn about Truth Himself, Jesus Christ, the One Who died to save you.
If you do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, He is giving you an invitation now to receive Him. Won’t you accept Him as the Truth you need?
Pray this simple prayer with me now:
Lord Jesus, I need You. I need you to know truth because You are Truth. I invite You into my life now. I receive You as my personal Savior and the Lord of my life. Thank You for forgiving me and bringing me into Your family. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for giving me eternal life. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.
