MaryAnn Diorio is a widely published, award-winning author who writes riveting, compelling fiction that deals with the deepest issues of the human heart. She also writes picture books for children.

Her masterfully drawn characters and heartwarming stories of family, forgiveness, and faith have earned her both several awards for fiction and the deep devotion of her readers. One reader described MaryAnn’s stories as “a cup of hot cocoa for the soul.”

MaryAnn’s latest novel, MIRACLE IN MILAN, set in the enchanting, romantic city of Milan, Italy, is the story of a young female auditor who discovers convincing evidence that the man she loves is an embezzler.

Her historical romance, IN BLACK AND WHITE, won First Place in Historical Fiction in the 2020 Christian Indie Book Awards Contest. It is a gripping love story set in the 1950s, that deals with the controversial topic of racism and interracial relationships.

MaryAnn’s latest children’s book is titled PENELOPE PUMPERNICKEL: DYNAMIC DETECTIVE. It is the second book in a series of chapter book for beginning and reluctant readers. Join the adventure and excitement as Penelope Pumpernickel outwits homechool troublemaker Grandy Ungerleider.

MaryAnn has also written a historical trilogy set in the late 19th century and titled THE ITALIAN CHRONICLES. Comprised of three novels–THE MADONNA OF PISANO, A SICILIAN FAREWELL, and RETURN TO BELLA TERRA–this series is the saga of a young Italian woman who faces unspeakable tragedy. The trilogy was sparked by an incident that occurred in the life of MaryAnn’s great-great-grandmother.

A former professor of French and Fiction Writing at several major universities, MaryAnn holds the PhD in French with a concentration in Comparative Literature, the MA in Italian Language & Literature, and the MFA in Writing Popular Fiction. She resides in New Jersey with her husband Dominic, a retired physician. They are the blessed parents of two awesome daughters, a very smart son-in-law, and six rambunctious grandchildren.
