“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines
the course of your life.” ~ Proverbs 4:23
Did you know that your soul has eyes? It has the ability to see the unseen, that realm where possibilities are born or die and where dreams are made or shattered.
The word soul is a synonym for the word heart. So we could say that your heart has eyes.
You have most likely heard the saying that the eyes are the windows of the soul. This is not just a nice saying. Scientists have actually proven that the eyes reveal what kind of soul a person has. An article that appeared a few years ago in the British publication Daily Mail states the following: “Patterns in the iris can give an indication of whether we are warm and trusting or neurotic and impulsive, research has found.” (See reference below).
The eyes of your soul reflect what is going on in your soul. And what is going on in your soul determines what you see with the eyes of your soul. If your soul is healthy, you will have good vision. If you soul is unhealthy, you will not.
Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes and it seemed as though no one was home? The eyes were lifeless, indicating a sick soul. By the same token, have you ever looked into the eyes of someone filled with joy? Those eyes abounded in life, indicating a healthy soul.
For your soul to be healthy, it needs a dream. But not just any dream. It needs the dream for which you were created. Finding that dream comes only from finding God Who gave you the dream in the first place. Until you find God, you will never have a healthy soul. Nor will you ever fulfill your destiny.
So, the chief question of life becomes how do I find God? There is only one way. You will find God only through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
When you embrace Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, your soul will know its life purpose. Your soul will have vision. The eyes of your soul will be able to see clearly the reason you are here.
Then–and only then–will you know the true meaning of life. Especially your life!
Unforgiveness can cloud your soul, keeping it from seeing its vision clearly. If you struggle with forgiving someone who hurt you, you will benefit from reading my powerful story about a woman who had the same struggle. It is called A CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING and is available for Kindle, iPad, and Nook.
