Hello and Happy Day! This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, novelist and life coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, September 13, 2021, and this is Episode #32 of Series 2021. This episode is titled “God Loves You!”

_______________________________

Has anyone ever told you that God loves you? If not, I want to tell you now. God loves you!

But let’s take a closer look at what this means.

When I meditate on Scripture, I like to take a passage and emphasize one word at a time to extract its deeper meaning. So, let’s do that now with the sentence “God loves you!”

When we put the emphasis on the first word, the sentence reads like this: GOD loves you! Well, who is God, and why does it make a difference that it’s GOD Who loves you and not someone else? The reason it makes a difference–and a huge difference–is that God is the One Who created you. He is the One Who loves you more than anyone else. He is the One Who knows you from the inside out. In fact, this is how the Bible describes God’s knowledge of you in Psalm 139: 13-18 NLT:

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!”

So, we can see from this passage that when I say that it is God Who loves you, this is a big deal. Why? Because God loves you even though He knows everything about you. He knows both the good and the bad, yet He loves you anyway. God doesn’t love you based on your performance. God loves you based on your worth to Him. And He Himself gave you that worth. So, don’t look to anyone or anything for your sense of worth. You won’t find it anywhere except in God.

One of the biggest lies of all time is that your worth comes from another person or from what you do. Believing this lie results in things like one’s marrying the wrong person or becoming a workaholic at one’s job. When we believe the lie that our worth comes from another person or from our performance, we feel as though we are never enough. We feel as though we will never measure up. Why? Because no person and no job can measure our true worth. Only God can. And He already has. How do we know? Just look at the Cross.

God is saying to you now, “Stop measuring your worth by what you do. It’s not what you do that gives you worth; it’s the fact that I made you that gives you worth. Your worth is a given. You were born with it, and no one can ever take it away from you.”

Now let’s emphasize the second word in our sentence: God LOVES you!  What does it mean that God LOVES you? It means that He wants only your good and your well-being. When you love someone, you desire the best for that person. So it is with God. But not only does God desire your best here on earth; He desires your ultimate best. And what is that ultimate best? It is to spend forever with God.

You see, God wants to be your Father. He wants a Father-Son or a Father-Daughter relationship with you. But relationships are two-way. So God won’t force you into a relationship with Him. He wants you to desire it on your own.

Why should you desire a relationship with God? Because He is the only Person who will ever love you perfectly and unconditionally. Although your mother and your father may do their best to love you unconditionally, they will fail at one time or another. Although your spouse may try to love you unconditionally, your spouse will fail at some point. But God will never fail to love you unconditionally. In fact, God will never fail to love you. Period!

Finally, let’s emphasize the last word of our sentence: God loves YOU! Think about this for a moment. God loves YOU!  Yes, YOU!  YOU with all of your flaws and weaknesses. YOU with all of your hang-ups. YOU with all of your sin. God loves YOU!

In fact, He loves YOU so much that He took the rap for your sin. That’s what the Cross is all about. We imperfect human beings could never pay the price for sin due to a perfect God. So Jesus, Who is God, became a man so that, as both God and man, He could fulfill both sides of the equation. As man, He took our sin. As God, He paid the perfect price for our sin. If you really think about this, it will blow your mind!

But in order to benefit from what Jesus did for you, you must personally receive His gift of eternal life. In other words, Jesus is offering you the gift of eternal life, but He will not force it on you. You have to receive it willingly.

Have you received this gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you? If not, receive it now. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Pray this simple prayer with me now:

Lord Jesus, I need You.  I ask You to save me. I want this gift of eternal life that You died to give me, So I invite You into my life, and I receive You as my personal Savior and the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life. Thank You for forgiving me and bringing me into Your family. Thank You for saving me. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.

If you sincerely prayed this prayer, please write to me at drmaryann@maryanndiorio.com. I would like to send you a free PDF booklet that will help you get started in your walk with Christ. I also encourage you to get yourself a Bible and read it every single day. The Bible is God’s love letter to you, His manual for your life. In the Bible, God reveals Who He is, and He teaches you how to live.

Finally, ask the Lord to lead you to the church of His choice for you where you can learn about Him and have fellowship and encouragement with other Christ-Followers. It is critically important in these last days to fellowship with other believers who are mature in Christ and who can guide you as you grow in Him.

THE IRON SAINT by MaryAnn Diorio, PhD

The Church in America is on the verge of a tremendous spiritual awakening, an awakening that will first be fueled by persecution unlike anything we have ever seen before in this land. Indeed, a prophetic word given in my home church during the month of November gave this warning to the Church: “Prepare for the fire of persecution!”

But the Church is not ready for this persecution. For the most part, the Church in America has been weak and lukewarm. Flabby and lazy. Consumed with the world and not with the things of God. As a result, the Church has been deceived and has subverted the divine order of things.

In THE IRON SAINT, Dr. MaryAnn Diorio seeks to help equip the saints for the work of true, integritous, and effective ministry. As a teacher in the Body of Christ, it is her burning desire to help correct this devastating error.

In THE IRON SAINT, Dr. Diorio has outlined a plan of action for strengthening the Church through uncompromising obedience to the Word of God. This plan of action is based on her own 50 years of walking with the Lord and being led by His Holy Spirit.

If you are a born-again believer and member of the Body of Christ, make this book a top reading priority.

Love. The word conjures up all sorts of emotions. To some, those emotions are positive. To others, they are negative. How we respond to the word love depends less on our experiences with love and more on our understanding of the real meaning of love.

Today, we use the word love quite indiscriminately and, I might add, rather flippantly. We speak of loving ice cream, loving a car, loving a style of house, loving a person, and loving God–all in the same breath. No wonder we are confused when it comes to giving and receiving genuine love.

Bible verse God is love in red with hearts

Genuine love begins and ends in God. Scripture reveals to us that God is Love (1 John 4: 8). The Word does not say that God has love; it says that God IS Love. The very nature, or essence, of God is love. If we want to understand love, we must seek to understand God’s nature.

Why is this so important to our well-being in this life? Here are some thoughts for you to ponder:

1–We are made in God’s image. God’s nature is to love. Because He made us in His image, He designed our nature to love. But sin marred, corrupted, and perverted our original nature so that the nature of humanity, in its unregenerate state, is to hate. Moreover, when we do not believe that we are made in God’s image (as evolution teaches), we can never experience the well-being that comes from knowing God loves us.

2–To know God is to know Love. Since God and Love are one and the same, to know one is to know the other. An apprentice becomes an expert at a trade by spending time with his master, observing how his master works, and then applying what he has learned from his master. We become experts at loving by spending time with God, observing how He works, and then applying what we have learned from Him.

3–Love is the ultimate healer. Every physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual disease responds positively to love. We’ve all heard stories of healing wrought by the power of love. Love is essential to our well-being in every area of our lives.

So, how do we learn to love? And how do we become experts at loving?

Love Himself has given us the plan of action for loving. It is found in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. Let’s take a look at what love in action looks like:

  • Love is patient.
  • Love is kind.
  • Love is not jealous.
  • Love is not boastful.
  • Love is not proud.
  • Love is not rude.
  • Love does not demand its own way.
  • Love is not irritable.
  • Love keeps no record of being wronged.
  • Love does not rejoice about injustice. Instead, love rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
  • Love never gives up.
  • Love never loses faith.
  • Love is always hopeful.
  • Love endures through every circumstance.
  • Love will last forever.

How do you square up with God’s description of love? If you’re like me, you have to admit that, at times, you fall short.

But don’t get discouraged. We are all learning to love. Our life on this earth is a course in learning how to love as Jesus loves. We have not yet finished the course, but we are covering more ground every day.

So, as we move into the new year, let’s make it our goal to learn to love as Jesus loves. I believe that when we stand before our Lord, He will judge us not by all that we accomplished for Him but by how well we have loved.

To help you further in learning to love as Jesus loves, I invite you to listen to my very brief podcast titled “Have You Learned to Love?” (See the link below). It is the first podcast in my new weekly podcast series titled A Moment with MaryAnn. I trust it will bless you. If it does, please pass it on. Thanks!
