Guard your heart above all else, for it determines
the course of your life.” ~ Proverbs 4:23
A movement is afoot throughout the world to unify all religions. While this concept sounds good, it is dangerous and deceptive. Why? Because such a unification is a politically correct attempt to discredit the truth that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way to be saved.
Some mainline churches are falling into deception by inviting those of other belief systems into their worship services. By other belief systems, I do not mean other Christian denominations. I mean belief systems that do not worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Islam, for example, worships Allah. Many Christians believe that Allah and the Christian God are one and the same. They are not. Contrary to what even some Muslims say, Allah has its roots in paganism and is a false god.
Any belief system that denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is false, whether that belief system is Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, or any other -ism. Scripture describes such a belief system as being the spirit of AntiChrist: “This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world” (I John 4: 2-3).
Another dangerous belief system you may have heard of or will hear about in the near future is Chrislam. Chrislam is the attempt to combine Christianity and Islam. This is spiritually impossible to do. Scripture says this in 2 Corinthians 6:14: “What fellowship can light have with darkness?” The answer is none.
God has declared in His Word the truth about salvation. Jesus made this truth clear when He said: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me” (John 14: 6). There is only one way to be saved, and that way is through Jesus Christ. Only by accepting Him as our Savior and Lord can we go to Heaven. There is no other way.
Truth is true because it is backed by the character of God. Man does not establish truth; God does. Therefore, if one does not believe the Bible, it is no less true.
I may say that I don’t believe in the law of gravity or the law of thermodynamics. But those laws are true whether I believe in them or not. I do not determine the truth of a physical or mathematical law. God does.
The problem with the soon-coming one world religion is that man has taken it upon himself to determine what is true religion and what is not. But just because man says that all religions lead to God, that does not mean they do. Making such a statement is nothing more than relativism. And relativism is nothing more than assuming the role of God.
Beware lest you be deceived. Dark times lie ahead, but only the true followers of Jesus Christ will remain standing in the Light when the rest of the world falls into darkness.
