“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines
the course of your life.” ~ Proverbs 4:23
Would you consider yourself an ambitious person?I would describe myself as ambitious in light of its definition as “an eager or strong desire to achieve something.” But ambition, like money, derives its morality from the motive behind it.
For example, if one is ambitious for fame and power, that ambition will lead to destruction. But if one is ambitious for the things of God, that ambition will lead to life.
Ambition is a matter of the heart. The key question to ask yourself is, “Why am I ambitious?” Am I ambitious to exalt myself, or am I ambitious to exalt Jesus Christ?
Your answer to this question will determine whether your ambition is God-centered or self-centered.
