Have you ever been in a situation where you just didn’t know what to do? You feel overwhelmed, confused, paralyzed. There are so many choices before you, you’re afraid of making the wrong one. Or there is only one right choice before you, and you don’t like what it looks like.
Having been in this kind of situation, I can relate. But I also can share what I learned that might help you when facing seemingly impossible situations when you just don’t know what to do.
1. PRAY. We may not know what to do, but God always does. So when we ask Him for wisdom about how to handle a situation, He will always grant us wisdom. He promises us as much in James 1: 5: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
2. BELIEVE. No matter how difficult our situation may seem, God always comes through for us when we believe that He will. When it looked as though Jairus’ daughter had died, Jesus said to him, “Don’t be afraid. Just believe, and she will be healed” (Luke 8: 50). And the child was raised back to life!
3. TRUST. When we ask God for help, we must believe that He will help us. Psalm 46: 1 assures us that God is “always ready to help in times of trouble.” As we focus on this truth and not on our circumstances, we will discover that God will show us what to do when we don’t know what to do.
Now, it’s YOUR turn: What do you do when you don’t know what to do? Please leave a comment in the box below.
